The Ultimate Guide To Making Your acne Disappear

Back Acne, also known as Bacne, has various causes. From the products you use, to personal hygiene, there are many factors that can contribute to those tiny breakouts on your back.

And we all know how difficult it gets to confidently bare your skin when you’re suffering from such breakouts.

Which is why we decided to come up with a list of 4 dermatologist-recommended tips that can help keep bacne at bay.

Wash your back

Shower as soon as you get home to rinse off all the sweat, oil, and sunscreen that can build up around your hair follicles.

When washing your back, use a gentle body wash that contains salicylic acid and use it consistently to reduce inflammation and unclog the pores.

Exfoliators and loofahs also stimulate the oil glands, causing more congestion on the skin and resulting to blemishes. Avoid using these, and body scrubs, as much as you can.

Moisturize

Body cream is needed to balance your skin, after using a deep-cleansing wash.

Use oil-free lotions that contain mild hydroxy-acid, as it helps prevent the buildup of pore-clogging cells.

Bathe in salt water

Soothe inflamed skin and dry out oily patches with epsom salts.

An oatmeal bath can also help reduce the oil on your skin.

Try this: Add a cup of epsom salts or a half-cup of plain, unflavored oats to your bathwater and soak for 20-30 minutes.

Make apple cider vinegar your best friend

It’s been proven and tested that apple cider vinegar helps regulate your skin’s pH, leading to clearer skin and drying out oily spots and blemishes.

To treat bacne, try this: spray apple cider vinegar on breakouts, or dab a cotton ball on it every night before bed.

Adding apple cider vinegar to your diet can also help clear your skin. Just make sure to drink diluted ACV in a glass of water daily.

The Must-Do’s For Every Woman’s Skincare Routine

In following a skincare routine that’ll best benefit your facial needs, it’s important to know which products work together, how they benefit your skin, and in what order they should be followed.

Here are certain products that should be included in your skincare routine, and how your skin can benefit from each one of them.

1: Cleanser

Using a gentle, water-soluble cleanser helps remove debris, oil, and makeup, as rinsing with water isn’t enough to clean your face. Cleansers also help allow the products you use to work even better during the evening and in the morning.

Carefully choose a cleanser appropriate for your skin type. While cream cleansers work well for dry skin, gel-formulated cleansers are suitable for individuals with oily complexion.

2: Toner

Toners helps smoothen and soften the skin, whilst removing the last traces of makeup.

Products with skin-replenishing ingredients hydrate, refresh, and revitalize the skin’s surface immediately after cleansing.

3: Exfoliant

Environmental damage causes the surface of the skin to to become dull, rough, and uneven. Exfoliating eliminates this buildup, which could cause clogged pores, uneven skin tone, and worsen the appearance of fine lines and deeper wrinkles.

For individuals with sensitive skin, avoid scrubs with scratchy grains. Instead, look for exfoliators with natural fruit enzymes, as they help remove dead skin cells without the use of microbeads.

How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type. You can either do it once or twice a week if you have normal or dry skin, and three to four times if you have oily or combination skin.

4: Serum

Serums are filled with antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients that help protect your skin from environmental damage. Unlike moisturizers, serums penetrate deeper, nourishing and hydrating the skin.

Purchase serums specifically to your skin’s need – anti-aging, brightening, or acne.

5: Moisturizer

We advise using a different moisturizer for your morning and another moisturizer for your evening routine.

For daytime, use a lighter formula with minimum SPF 15. This will help the skin retain its moisture and protect against UVA/ UVB rays.

For your nighttime routine, use a thicker and richer formula. Night creams should contain collagen, elastin, and essential lipids to help refresh your face while you sleep.

Top 5 Causes of Acne (And What You Can Do About Them)

Although acne is very common – people of all races, gender, and age experience acne at least at some point of their lives, it is more common amongst teenagers and young adults.

Acne is caused by the overproduction of oil and blocked hair follicles, resulting in clogged pores, and growth of bacteria inside the hair follicles.

However, aside from these genetic factors, your day-to-day pattern also plays a big role on why your skin’s constantly breaking out.

Here are 5 triggers that causes acne, and how you can treat them.

1) You workout

There are numerous factors that causes the skin to breakout when you workout.

Sweat on its own doesn’t cause breakouts, but it can mix with oils in your pores that can eventually lead to acne. Friction can also aggravate acne, so make sure to wear loose-fitting clothes made up of natural fabrics. Synthetic fabrics like nylon usually rubs against the skin, traps sweat, and clogs the pores.

When showering after a workout, use a body wash with salicylic acid to keep pores clean.

2) You’re using laundry detergents

Laundry detergents and dryer sheets can irritate the skin, especially for people with sensitive skin. Instead, swap your usual detergent to something that is fragrance-free, and skip the dryer sheets.

3) You don’t get enough sleep

Not getting enough sleep can inflict stress on the body, increasing its cortisol or “stress hormone” levels, and causing breakouts. As much as you can, aim for at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night.

4) You don’t regularly change your sheets

Yes, bed linens accumulate dirt very quickly! Make sure to wash and change your sheets at least every 2 weeks, including your pillowcases and towels.

5) You go to bed with makeup on

Going to bed with makeup hinders the skin from regenerating the next day. It traps dirt and dead skin cells, clogging the pores, and leading to chronic inflammation in the form of pimples.

If you’re too tired to go through your entire nighttime skincare routine, remove your makeup off at least with a cleaning wipe.
