A collagen biostimulator and a hyaluronic acid filler are not interchangeable. Here is how to choose.
Sculptra and hyaluronic acid filler are sometimes pitched as alternatives. They are not. They do different things on different timelines, and choosing between them depends on what you actually want.
Hyaluronic acid filler is structural. We inject it into a specific area, cheek, lip, jawline, and the result is immediate. The product adds volume that can be shaped during the session and dissolved later if you change your mind. It is a precise tool for a specific outcome.
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator. It is poly-L-lactic acid, the same biocompatible material used in dissolvable sutures. We inject it across larger areas of the face, and instead of adding volume directly, it triggers your skin to produce new collagen over the following weeks and months. The result builds slowly, typically across three sessions spaced six weeks apart, and lasts up to two years.
Filler is the right answer when you want a precise contour change you can see today. Sculptra is the right answer when you want to slow the gradual collagen loss that comes with ageing and rebuild structural support over time. Many clients use both. We use filler to address a specific concern and Sculptra in the background to maintain the underlying foundation.
There is one practical difference worth knowing. Filler is reversible. Sculptra is not. We never start a Sculptra course without a long conversation about whether it is the right fit, your medical history, and what you can expect at each stage.
Both treatments at Ivory are performed by our doctors, not by aestheticians. That is a non-negotiable for injectable work.
