The timing, the protocol, and what to do with skincare in the week before.
Carbon laser peel is one of the best pre-wedding treatments we offer. Thirty minutes, no downtime, immediate glow that holds for three to five days. The timing matters, and so does what you do in the days around it.
Timing. Three to five days before the wedding is the sweet spot. Closer than 48 hours and the skin may still be slightly more reflective than you want for makeup application. Earlier than five days and you start to lose the peak glow. Book the session on the Tuesday before a Saturday wedding for a good balance.
Skincare in the week before. Stop retinoids three to five days before the session. Avoid acid exfoliants (AHA, BHA) for two days before. The morning of the session, cleanse only, no actives. SPF 50+ throughout the week.
The session. The thin layer of pharmaceutical-grade carbon is brushed on, allowed to settle into the pores, and then targeted with Q-switched laser. The carbon vaporises with the laser energy, lifting impurities and dead cells. There is no real discomfort, most clients describe it as a series of small warm pulses.
What to do after. SPF 50+, religiously, for the next week. Skip workouts and saunas for 24 hours. Hydrating skincare only, no active acids or retinoids until after the event. The skin will feel slightly tight for an hour or two, then settles into a brighter, smoother state by the next morning.
Pair it with. A hydrating multi-step facial three weeks before the wedding gives a deeper hydration baseline. LED light therapy two days before the carbon peel calms any residual redness or sensitivity. A bridal lash and brow appointment can be done the same day as the carbon peel without issue.
What not to do. Try anything new in the week before the wedding. Layer multiple aggressive treatments in the final fortnight. Skip the consultation, every face responds slightly differently and we want to know what we are working with before the session.
For most brides, this is the simplest, most reliable pre-wedding treatment in our menu.
