A targeted tool for hand rejuvenation and minor body contouring, not a body-wide answer.
Body filler is a specific tool with a specific role. It is not a body-wide answer to loose skin or volume loss, and it is not the same product as facial filler though it lives in the same family.
Where we use it. The dorsum of the hands, where volume loss exposes tendons and veins and is one of the most ageing changes that hand-care alone cannot address. Targeted gluteal augmentation, used carefully, in clients who want subtle contour improvement without surgery. Volume restoration in areas of the decollete where bio-remodelling alone has not been sufficient.
How it is different from facial filler. Body filler products are typically denser, more cross-linked, and designed to integrate into the deeper tissue planes of the body. The volume per session is larger, and the technique is different from facial work.
What hand rejuvenation involves. Filler is injected via a cannula into the dorsum of the hand, between the tendons. The result is immediate softening of the bony appearance and reduction in vein prominence. The treatment integrates over the following week. A second session is sometimes needed for fuller correction. Result lasts approximately 12 to 18 months.
What we will not do. Large-volume gluteal augmentation. The risks of cosmetic complications scale up with volume, and that work belongs in a surgical setting with the appropriate environment and team. Calf augmentation. Other large-volume body work outside our scope. We refer to plastic surgery for those concerns.
Pre-care and aftercare. Avoid blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E, gingko) for a week before to minimise bruising. Avoid the use of the treated area for 24 hours. Light activity is fine, intense activity should wait 48 hours.
The clients who get the best result from body filler are those treating a specific, localised concern, not those hoping to address general body laxity. Threading aesthetic, body sculpting, and skin quality treatments are different tools for different problems.
