If your dark circles are pigmentation-based (brown/grey tone rather than a shadow), filler will not help — brightening peels, Salmon DNA, or Q-switch laser are better options. Your doctor will pinch-test and assess your anatomy to determine the true cause.

Typically 9–18 months. The tear trough is a low-movement area, so the filler lasts longer than lip filler. Some clients find hyaluronic acid lingers even longer here.

In expert hands with cannula technique and small amounts of the right product, under-eye filler is very safe. The main risks — Tyndall effect (bluish discolouration), fluid retention, and vascular events — are minimised by experienced doctors using low-viscosity HA placed deep against the bone. Your doctor will discuss risks honestly and can dissolve filler with hyaluronidase if needed.

Filler cannot fix protruding fat pads — in fact, it can make them look worse. Surgical lower-lid blepharoplasty is the appropriate solution. Your doctor will give you an honest assessment.

Plan for 3–5 days. Bruising and swelling are common in the periorbital area. Many clients take a Friday appointment and recover over the weekend.
