A lactic acid peel is a professional exfoliating treatment that uses lactic acid to remove damaged surface layers of the skin, promoting cell turnover and revealing fresh, healthier skin underneath. Known for being milder than other chemical peels, it is perfect for sensitive skin types or those new to chemical exfoliation.
Adults with dry, dehydrated, sensitive, or reactive skin, dull complexion, or those new to chemical peels — and a safe, well-tolerated option for clients in desert climates like the UAE who struggle with moisture loss..

This treatment may not be right for you if any of the following apply. Please discuss your full medical history with us during consultation.
Both are alpha-hydroxy acids. Lactic acid has a larger molecule, so it penetrates more slowly — making it gentler than glycolic. It also has a natural hydrating effect (lactic acid is part of the skin's natural moisturising factor), so it brightens without drying. Ideal for dehydrated or sensitive skin.
Excellent. Lactic acid is often the first professional peel we recommend for clients new to chemical exfoliation — gentle, hydrating, low irritation. You get brightening and smoother texture without the stronger reaction glycolic or TCA can cause.
For mild surface pigmentation and dullness — yes. For stubborn melasma or deep post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, stronger peels (TCA, Cosmelan) or laser are more effective. Lactic acid is ideal as a maintenance or first-line brightening treatment.
Professional lactic peels range from 30% to 88% depending on your skin and concerns. Most clients start at 30–50% and build tolerance. We always patch test and discuss expectations before first peel.
A course of 4–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart for visible improvement. Monthly maintenance preserves the hydration and glow.
For stable, non-active cases — often yes, at lower strengths, and it can even help with mild barrier repair. For active flares, we delay treatment. Your therapist will assess carefully.
