Where to use bio-remodelling on the body, and where it is not the right fit.
Bio-remodelling has earned its place in facial protocols. The body version, Profhilo Body, is less talked about but equally useful for a specific set of concerns.
Where it works best. The neck, where skin laxity and crepiness are early signs of ageing and where surgical options feel disproportionate. The decollete, where sun damage and thinning skin create a textured appearance that creams cannot reach. The inner arms, where loose, crepey skin is a common concern in clients who have lost weight or are in their late forties and beyond. The inner thighs and knees, similar story.
The mechanism is the same as the facial version. A high concentration of stabilised hyaluronic acid is delivered subdermally at a set of mapped injection points. It spreads, hydrates, and signals fibroblast activity, leading to gradual collagen and elastin remodelling. The skin firms across two months.
A typical body protocol is two sessions, four weeks apart, with a top-up at six to twelve months. The session takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area. We use topical anaesthetic for the inner arms and inner thighs where the skin is more sensitive.
Recovery is minimal. The treated area may have small raised bumps for two to three hours, similar to the facial version, that resolve quickly. Light bruising at injection points sometimes appears and clears within a few days. You can return to normal activity immediately, but we ask that you avoid intense heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24 hours.
Where it is not the right answer. Significant laxity that has crossed beyond what skin-quality work can address. Loose skin after major weight loss often needs surgery, not bio-remodelling. Significant fat accumulation that contributes to the appearance of loose skin needs body sculpting first.
For mild to moderate skin quality and firmness concerns on the body, this is one of the most reliable, low-risk options we offer.
