What current cellulite treatments can and cannot do, and how to build a meaningful course.
Cellulite is one of the most asked-about concerns and one of the most misrepresented in marketing. No treatment, anywhere, removes cellulite permanently. Anything claiming otherwise is overselling.
What treatments can do is reduce the visible appearance significantly, soften the dimpled texture, and improve skin firmness over a course. The catch is that the improvement is incremental, requires a sustained programme, and depends on factors outside the clinic, hydration, diet, movement, and weight stability.
The treatment we recommend most often is shockwave therapy. Acoustic waves break down the fibrous bands that pull skin inward to create the dimpled appearance, while stimulating circulation and lymphatic drainage. A course of six to ten sessions delivers visible softening. Most clients pair this with pressotherapy to support lymphatic clearance between sessions.
For clients who want to address cellulite alongside body contouring, we add RF body treatments or our body sculpting protocol. The combination addresses both the surface texture and the underlying tissue.
What does not work, despite the marketing, is any single-session miracle. Topical creams. Massage on its own without sustained programme. Crash diets. These all have their place, but not as a treatment for cellulite.
What does work, consistently, is a six-week programme of in-clinic sessions paired with two litres of water daily, regular movement, and avoiding crash weight changes. Clients who follow that plan see real, photographable improvement.
We measure circumference and take consistent photos before, during, and after every cellulite programme. That is how we know whether something is working. If it is not, we stop and recommend something else.
