No. This is one of the most common myths. Vellus hair is genetically programmed and its texture and colour cannot be changed by shaving. The hair regrows at the same rate and thickness as before — it simply feels different for the first few days as blunt ends emerge.

Dermaplaning uses a sterile, #10 surgical-grade blade held at a precise 45° angle by a trained therapist. It removes both vellus hair AND the outermost layer of dead skin (physical exfoliation) — something a standard razor cannot safely do.

It is completely painless and, performed by a trained therapist, extremely safe. You may feel a light scraping sensation, similar to shaving. Our therapists use sterile blades for every client.
