IPIXEL is an advanced fractional skin resurfacing treatment powered by Fractional Er:YAG laser technology on the Harmony XL Pro platform by Alma Lasers. It is used to address fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, uneven pigmentation, sun damage, and textural irregularities while promoting natural skin rejuvenation.
Adults with moderate-to-deep acne scars, textural irregularities, deeper wrinkles, stretch marks, or surgical scars who want significant resurfacing and are prepared for 5–7 days of social downtime..
You may benefit if you have:
Er:YAG (2940nm) is an ablative fractional laser. Its precise absorption by water in the skin means it vaporises tissue cleanly with minimal thermal spread — making it effective for resurfacing with less downtime and lower pigmentation risk than CO2. For deeper scars and wrinkles, it strikes an excellent balance between outcome and recovery.
It excels at atrophic acne scars, deeper wrinkles, actinic damage, traumatic scars, and stretch marks. It is also used on the body (thighs, abdomen, upper arms) — not just the face.
A course of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart delivers the best outcome. Deeper scarring often benefits from 4–6 sessions. Your practitioner will tailor the plan based on concern depth and Fitzpatrick type.
Day 1: warm, pink, mildly swollen skin — like sunburn. Day 2–3: fine bronzed crusting — do not pick. Day 4–5: natural sloughing reveals smoother skin. Day 6–7: residual pinkness, well camouflaged with mineral makeup. Full fading over 2 weeks.
Er:YAG is safer than CO2 on Fitzpatrick IV, but pigmentation risk still exists on V–VI. A test patch and careful settings are essential. Your specialist may suggest non-ablative RF resurfacing as a safer option for deeper skin tones.
Yes — this is one of iPixel's strongest indications. Rolling and boxcar scars respond particularly well. Ice pick scars (deep, narrow) may need adjunctive TCA cross. Your practitioner will assess scar morphology and recommend the right mix.
